Hello
Can we still use our old characters after installing a new version of DaggerfallSetup? Or do we have to start a new character?
If we can keep our old characters, is it important to install the same mods/fixes each time we update?
merci

Hello,
You can use your old savegame with DaggerfallSetup. Most of fixes/mods won't alter your savegame. However, I commend to finish/cancel all your actives secondary quests before installing quest fixes.
If you want update, it's the same : Finish/Cancel your secondary quests before if you want uncheck a quest fixe or a Quest Pack.
If you use Dagskill, you need to keep it if your stats are upper 100%.
If you use a translation, some words can remain in your savegame.
And, the most important : do a back up of your save, just in case.

Thanks for your detailed, excellent response. Maybe we should add this information to the wiki?

Cool! It looks great
I forgot to ask before: when updating, can I install the new version directly over the existing installation? Or is it safer to backup the saved games, uninstall, then install the new version?
Thanks.

You can update directly.
But, doing a back up is always a good idea.
