Si ça peut être utile à quelqu'un (c'est en anglais, j'ai la flemme de traduire).
(la raison pour laquelle j'avais cherché à le faire était de pouvoir échanger facilement des objets entre mes deux comptes Guild Wars)
-----------
How to launch Guild Wars twice (or more) at the same time in the current user session.
Disclaimer: do this at your own risks (though I've done it without any problems, but there are some (small) registry modifications, so...)
Note: in the following explanations, I will assume that the game is installed into "C:\Program Files\GUILD WARS"
Do this only one time:
- duplicate your Guild Wars folder "C:\Program Files\GUILD WARS" to "C:\Program Files\GUILD WARS2"
- if you want to have more than two instances of the game simultaneously, than duplicate to "GUILD WARS3", "GUILD WARS4", etc
- get "process explorer" from www.sysinternals.com (http://www.sysintern...ssExplorer.html)
Launch the game normally.
Now, if you want to be able to launch one or more new instances, then you have to do this:
- launch process explorer
- go to menu "Find" and choose "Find Handle" (or use ctrl+f)
- search for "AN-Mutex-Window-Guild Wars"
- double-click on the item found. That will select the line "Mutant \BaseNamedObjects\AN-Mutex-Window-Guild Wars" in the Gw.exe process.
- right click on this line and do "Close handle"
What you just did is remove the mechanism by which the guild wars exe "knows" it is already launched (and then doesn't want to launch another time)
So, from now on, to launch a new instance:
- launch regedit. To do this, use the "Run..." command in the Windows "Start" menu: type regedit in the open edit box
- browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->ArenaNet->Guild Wars
- Modify in the right pane the "Path" and "src" value to read "C:\Program Files\GUILD WARS2\Gw.exe" (without the double-quotes)
- you can now launch the Gw.exe file from the "C:\Program Files\GUILD WARS2\" folder
- repeat the last two steps with "GUILD WARS3", "GUILD WARS4", etc to start other instances
- when all your instances are launched, revert the "Path" and "src" values to "C:\Program Files\GUILD WARS\Gw.exe"
Everything could be easily automated by script but the "mutant part". It could be done programmatically too (process explorer does it), but I didn't have found an easy way to do it, so you have to do the procedure manually.
Maybe someone could automate all this.
